It was a remake of the Malayalam superhit film, starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. 2015’s ‘Drishyam’ was directed by late Nishikant Kamat, who passed away in 2020 due to cirrhosis. The sequel is directed by Abhishek Pathak, son of producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, and has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
