Apart from Rohit, veteran batsman Virat Kohli and opener Lokesh Rahul have been rested for this tour. In the absence of experienced players, Shubman Gill, Umran Malik, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson have been given a chance in the team. After the T20 World Cup, the entire coaching staff including head coach Rahul Dravid has also been rested. National Cricket Academy head and former player VVS Laxman has been appointed as the head coach of the team for this tour.
